In 1971, a huge typhoon hits Pakistan : 100.000 people killed.

L'Abbé PIERRE, Michel CEPEDE, Gilbert CESBRON, Théodore MONOD, Alfred KASTLER, Robert BURON and other well known French representatives decide to develop and train a group of UNPAID volunteers, highly skilled in Search and Rescue activities, to immediately assist victims of natural disasters worldwide.

In March 1972, the non profit NGO CORPS MONDIAL DE SECOURS is born. It is a Non-Profit Relief Organisation dedicated to the Search And Rescue of victims of natural disasters Worldwide
